| BRAZILIAN NOON, JAGUAR 1984 17X22 (L/E 999) |
'Brazilian Noon' combines realism and drama. It is the middle of
the day; the sun is directly overhead. On a rock in the shade, a black jaguar rests.
"Here is a case where I did exaggerate a little. A couple of his
paws are out in the sunlight, and you can see the sun hitting them. The reason I brought the sunlight so close to him is so it
would light up his eyes, but without hitting him directly.
The yellow-orange eyes are glowing, reflecting the light striking in front of the cat, in a way that could not have happened with direct light, and yet the scene remains natural and unforced."
