"Ivory Billed Woodpecker" 22" x 30" |

| IVORY BILLED WOODPECKER 1971 22X30 (L/E 4,000) |
"I got a call from Les Line, editor of Audubon magazine. Someone had claimed to have rediscovered the ivory-billed
woodpecker in the swamps of Louisiana. He got permission for
me to take the best study skin of an ivory-billed woodpecker
from the American Museum of Natural History in New York City.
I took it home and worked round the clock for four days to meet
the magazine's deadline. The painting was done back in 1966. Typical Coheleach back then:
white background, very detailed, incredibly scientific approach
to it. Still, it is very design-y, I like to think, which is the
reason for including it here."
