"Siberian Ambush" 30 X 40 K & K's Secondary Print Market Price! | | | | SIBERIAN AMBUSH, TIGER 1992 22X28 (L/E 950) | Guy Coheleach has a personal affinity for the big cats, and
perhaps for the Siberian tiger most of all. His personal
stationary bears a portrait of a Siberian tiger, and he never
seems to go for long without painting one.
"In this case, I wanted to paint a portrait of Siberian tiger,
because I simply love the things. But I also wanted to paint one in an alert, crouched position.
You can tell that this is a Siberian tiger simply by the snow,
of course, but there are other ways, too. The Siberian is taller
in the shoulder and perhaps a little broader in the skull than
the Bengal, but those are not easily recognizable in a painting.
What is recognizable is the fact that the Bengal tiger is not as
pale as the Siberian - it is a richer red, and the hair is shorter when it is in the wild."
